Traffic reports for French roads

BisonfuteNOW the last thing you want to get caught up in if you are travelling across France is one of the monster traffic jams that can occur on the autoroutes.

During the holiday period you might want to drop in on the Bison Futé website, which besides having a great name, offers up maps and pointers to potential traffic problems.

There is a live report highlighting the different regions of France, as well as the situation around the larger cities, but there is also a page detailing possible problem dates when more people are expected to be travelling.

Does any one know where or how to find news reports of the traffic congestion that occurred on the A1 on the 3rd Jan this year, I need it for a missed flight insurance claim and unless I get it (and send it along with the other hundred bits of paper they want) they will not pay out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Chris,

There is Google News France that might help:

http://news.google.fr/

If it was due to the weather then you might have some joy with the historical weather date on Weather Underground:

Best of luck,
Craig
