Bad weather virus email

IF you have been sat in France following the bad weather that hit the UK and are keen to find out more, don't be fooled by a virus email that is doing the rounds.

The BBC reports of a message that claims to contain details of the storms that battered the UK and parts of Europe, but in reality it contains a virus that can take over your machine.

Both delete the message if you receive it and make sure your virus checker is up-to-date.

You, me the gatepost and settling in

189915686_86a56a6887_m
Our first house in France. At one and the same time it was exciting and scary.

There was work to be done without doubt. The house needed total decoration and a kitchen! We had a sink but nothing to cook on so it was a girl's dream, retail therapy!

We sat and wrote a list then planned our shopping trip. To start with we bought a kitchen table, a table top cooker, a microwave and fridge freezer.

UNFORTUNATELY due to the travel disruption caused by yesterday's high winds, and Virgin Trains only running an emergency timetable today, I've decided not to head to Vive la France.

Instead I will look out for any interesting reports or photographs to hopefully provide a flavour of the exhibition.

Beneath the Millau Viaduct

Millauviaduct180107_1THERE has been a few additions to the This French Life photo album on Flickr including this up close and personal view of the Millau Viaduct.

Taken by John from Floressas it really captures the majesty of one of the world's greatest examples of engineering.

As always if you have any photos of France then just add them to the site's album and I'll mention them here.

Guide to French social security system

Assurancemaladi170107THE social security system in France is a complex beast with often two or more different organisations handling the simplest of operations.
