Wood_0410AS the cost of oil and gas gets more expensive, the increased popularity of wood burning stoves and heating has seen a 23 per cent rise in their use in France.

Figures from ADEME, the energy ministry, show that in 2005 sales of wood burning stoves, fireplace inserts and boilers topped more than 430,000, in the previous year the figure was 348,000.

And France is the leading consumer of wood for heating in Europe, ahead of Sweden and Finland, whilst ADEME ensures there is a balance between consumption and production in the forests and promotes the use of efficient wood burners.

Usefull site which I will revisit.
Can any of you tell me if you are aware of a retailer/wholesaler who trades in log burning stoves in France.
UK prices for such items are far too high and I am led to understand that they are cheaper in France.
Thanks in anticipation.
Best regards,
John
