I can't see any mention here of the flights to Angouleme as mentioned in todays email - have I missed something??

Regards,
Richard M R Evans

Hi Richard
This story has been linked to from the Allez Francaise website which does mention a service to Angouleme.
But I am not aware of any new flights to the airport from the UK.
I have just had a check around the airport's website and it is only featuring Air France flights.
New routes are announced practically every week so I may have missed it.
Hope this helps.
Craig

has anyone heard anything about flights into Brive airport. I had heard that there was to be a regular service out of this new airport sometime in 2006? Any chance the flights will be from UK and if so which airline.

Many thanks

Hi Margaret

There is a website for the Brive Souillac airport at:

http://www.aeroport-brive-souillac.com/

However, the airport does not look as though it will be offering flights until 2007.

It is likely that internal flights will be offered first, before a link to the UK.

From here near Caen, we can only look on in envy at all the new flights to so many French destinations.
Am I alone in wondering why we have no airline (apart from the expensive
French one) serving this big city?

Does anyone know when flights will commence from London to Angouleme. I seem to have read about it but cannot find any information. Thanks

Hi Jackie
Unfortunately I don't think a route from Angouleme to the UK is likely in the near future.
Currently there is only a service to Lyon operated by Air France.
Angouleme Airport website is at:

We have just been told that Ryanair are pulling out of ST-ETIENNE on the 5 june 2006 a big blow to our area after a big fight to keep the service running

This is all anecdotal but I think it was mentioned on another site that the Angouleme runway is too short to take the standard 737 sized aircraft.

However, my parents who are north of Angouleme (and normally travel from Poitiers) have seen a lot of ongoing building activity within the airport suggesting some sort of upgrade is taking place. I can't see anything mentioned on the airport website about this.

I might just get them to drive there one day and find out what it's all about...

Montpellier - the city that most people from the north of France want to move to - can be reached by Ryanair all year round or British Airways in the summer. If we could have BA all year it would be terrific, often the price is little different to the budget chaps, but the service is a million times nicer. And, you don't have to pay for your hold-luggage!

Does anyone know which airline(s) flies from Paris to Brive? Thanks

Hi Melissa

There isn't currently an operational airport at Brive, although it is on the way, please see:

http://www.aeroport-brive-souillac.com/

So currently the nearest airport to Brive that serves Paris is likely to be Limoges:

http://www.aeroportlimoges.com/

Hope this helps.

Craig. Brive does have an airport, to the west of the town. It is small, more of an aerodrome, but there are flights to Paris. See www.airlinair.com

The 'new' airport is still being built and is actually some 15 mins away from Brive to the south; hence the name 'Brive Souillac'.

any know about flights to angouleme from the uk yet ?

NEW ROUTE The dreaded Ryanair is flying London Stansted to Angouleme starting on 1 April 2008, flying Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
