Gadget mad Brits
IT would appear that British holidaymakers cannot take a break without being armed to the teeth with gadgets.
Direct Line travel insurance claim a third of travellers will carry over £500 worth of goods with one in 10 packing more than £1000 worth of technical toys.
More than four fifths (85 per cent) of Brits will take their mobile abroad, 74 per cent will take digital cameras, 17 per cent will carry iPods or MP3 players and a hardcore 10 per cent will pack their laptop.
I’ve spoken to many holiday home owners who look to cater for people who can’t take a break from the office and are willing to supply high-speed internet access to guests.
With ADSL coverage slowly improving in France it does not cost any extra to provide if you are using it yourself, and if you offer wireless access guests could browse the web from the comfort of their gite.

Having just got back from a week in Burgundy, the last thing I wanted was a high speed internet link! A low speed wine link was all that was required!! And I found it.
I guess it's different if you live there?
