Brits get a ribbing from author
A NEW book about the English claims Les Anglais are binge-drinkers, obsessed with animals and can’t talk about sex.
The Telegraph newspaper features an article on Les Nouveaux Anglais, by Agnès Catherine Poirier, which is published this week in France.
The author, who lived in London for 10 years, pokes fun at the English way of life including our obsession with the weather, queues and pets.
Agnès Catherine Poirier enjoys herself by wondering why there is so little eroticism in the life of Britons and the way that the David Blunkett affair was covered in the press.
But overall the author loves the many facets of British life and a bit of the culture must have rubbed off, as the book is written with tongue firmly in cheek.
